Immediate complications of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy in term neonates with resistive index as prognostic factor

چکیده
Background: Hypoxemia, a decreased arterial concentration of oxygen, frequently results in hypoxia, or oxygenation to cells organs. Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is leading cause neonatal brain injury, morbidity, and mortality globally. In the developed world, incidence estimated at 1-8 per 1,000 live births, developing estimates are as high 26 1,000. The objective study use resistive index prognostic factor for immediate outcome by Doppler ultrasound birth asphyxia. Methods: 50 babies were subjected neurosonogram between 12-24 hours life admitted tertiary care centre. Resistive (RI) was measured all enrolled neonates within 24 using pulse wave ultrasound. RI calculated as: , where S=peak systolic velocity D=end diastolic velocity. with 3.5 MHz transducer. . A 0.56 0.90 considered normal classified having either abnormal RI.Results: conducted states that mean age taken 17.12 p value 0.82 cord pH 6.88 0.70 which suggestive adverse outcomes asphyxiated while cerebral arteries renal 0.66 0.115 statistically significant. lesser indices more severe outcome. Conclusions: consequences HIE like death, seizures, acute kidney injury parameters my has positive co relation measures respectively.

THE VALUE OF PONDERAL INDEX AS A PROGNOSTIC FACTOR IN PREDICTING COMPLICATIONS IN TERM NEONATES
Rohrer's ponderal index in newborns (birth weight * 100/height3) has been used as an indicator of fetal growth status, especially to assess asymmetrical intrauterine growth retardation. Low ponderal index or disproportionate intrauterine growth retardation has higher neonatal morbidity and there are some specific guidelines in intrauterine growth retarded infants to control some of their pr...
متن کاملHypoxic ischemic encephalopathy in neonates.
BACKGROUND Birth anoxia remains an important cause of mortality and morbidity in neonates. Hypoxia/ischemia can lead to permanent brain damage and also affects other tissues of the body. It results from lack of oxygen before, during or after birth. The study was designed to assess the risk factors of birth asphyxia, common presentations and association of Apgar score with grades of hypoxic-isch...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) after perinatal asphyxia in term neonates causes long-term neurologic sequelae or death. A reliable evidence-based prognosis is essential. The study goal was to investigate the prognostic value of currently used clinical tests in neonatal patients with perinatal asphyxia and HIE. METHODS Searches were made on MEDLINE, Embase, Cent...
